Nintendo Officially Announces ‘Nintendo Network’

Following the announcement of a bleak quarterly report, Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata has officially announced that it will soon catch up with its competitors and launch its own online gaming network.
‘Nintendo Network’, Nintendo’s aptly-named online network, will allow users to compete and interact with other users and enjoy ‘not just game add-ons but fully downloadable retail games as well’.

The project between LEGO and Minecraft was finally granted with a green light.
It was Minecraft developer Mojang who proposed the idea back in December, and LEGO recently made the official announcement that the company is “developing a concept that celebrates the best aspects of building with the LEGO system and in Minecraft.”
This project was made possible through the community site LEGO Cuusoo. Members of these communities submit their LEGO ideas to the site and top submissions are chosen through voting. The project received an overwhelming number of supporters and then proposal was forwarded to the LEGO jury for assessment.

Rumors are circulating that adopt a 802.11ac Wi-Fi on its devices this year.
According to reports from AppleInsider, the company is planning to integrate a support for the 802.11ac Wi-Fi this year. The 802.11n standard is capable to support a speed of 1 Gigabit per second. The change will be implemented on Apple’s Time Capsule, AirPort base stations, notebooks, Apple TV and mobile devices. Even no official words had been released, Broadcom, one of Apple’s component makers has showcased the chips compatible to the new standard at the recent CES 2012. The new standard, 802.11ac, features improved readability, more power efficient and better networking range.

The Lumia 900, Nokia’s flagship Windows 7.5 will soon be available for pre-order. It will sport the same specs announced at CES, such as 4.3-inch AMOLED touch screen, 1.4 GHZ Snapdragon processor and an 8-megapixel camera.

A user-friendly TV is not the only thing Steve Jobs have in mind before he passed away.
Several reports are suggesting that Apple is set to introduce a new product at the press conference to be held on Thursday. The company hopes that this fresh innovation will redefine the use of textbooks in schools.
The Wall Street Journal mentioned that Apple will unveil a new digital textbook product this coming Thursday. This new platform will serve as a workplace for publishers to created interactive educational materials that iPad can support.

iPad 3 production already underway, rumored to sport LTE, Quad-Core chip and a retina display.
Apple’s production for its much awaited next generation iPad, the iPad 3 is said to be underway. According to Bloomberg, the iPad 3 has entered production and is slated to launch sometime in March, with full 4G LTE support, quad-core processor and a Retina display.
The report also reveals that Apple’s Asian manufacturing partners will be running at full capacity on February to reach production goals before its target launch date.

Xbox 360 sales of 2.7 million units toppled all its competitors.
Microsoft celebrated another milestone on its products. This time for the Xbox 360 sales which reached 2.7 million units in 2011; this value outsold both PS3 and Wii.
Based on statistics, Xbox 360 sold 1.7 million units in December and contributed to almost half of December’s total sales on games, consoles and accessories. Microsoft said that “This marks the tenth consecutive month Xbox 360 has held more than 40 percent of the current-generation console market share, and twelfth straight month Xbox 360 was the top-selling console in the U.S.”
