MOL Global, the buyer of the pioneer social network Friendster, made its partnership with Facebook official in a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last July 8, 2010. This partnership will bring Facebook credits to online retail stores for the first time. The business alliance between MOL and Facebook will make it easier and handy for people across Asia to buy virtual goods in online games and Facebook applications.
MOL AccessPoint, MOL Global’s wholly owned subsidiary, will become Facebook credit’s payment provider. In the coming months, users of Facebook will be able to acquire Facebook Credits through MOL Points on Facebook and MOL.com. MOL Points obtained through MOL’s network will be available in all MOL’s 500,000 outlets which are mainly in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, India, Australia and New Zealand. Plus, Facebook users will be able to purchase credits through MOL’s network of online banks in these countries, 7-Eleven outlets, and cybercafes.
