Motionbox is Now Under HP’s Snapfish
You have to get your Motionbox videos ready for packing. Because Motionbox is migrating to Snapfish this August.
Hewlett-Packard’s photo and video sharing service announced its acquisition of Motionbox last Monday.
Motionbox started as a free and paid video offering, selling DVDs and flipbooks made from user videos on the side. It also ran a professional video-hosting services with non-branded video player to businesses. Some of Motionbox’s consumers are Gawker Media, AOL, Bebo and Shutterfly.
According to HP, the current Motionbox site will remain open until August 10, and will integrate the technology into Snapfish.com afterwards. A representative from Motionbox said that all videos on Motionbox must be downloaded before the said date. Snapfish is giving Motionbox premium users a free year of Snapfish’s video service.
