Apple Shows New iMac Desktop Lines

iMac desktop lines now comes with Intel's Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors plus an ATI Radeon graphics. The fastest desktop ever made by Apple.

revealed its all-in-one lines of iMacs last Tuesday. These refreshed versions come with Intel’s Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors plus an ATI Radeon graphics.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing said in a statement, “We took the world’s best all-in-one and made it even better. With the latest processors, high-performance graphics and signature aluminum and glass design, customers are going to love the latest .”

The new $1,199 iMac line is at the top of its competitors with processor that speeds up to 3.6 GHz, quad-core which speeds up to 2.93 GHz and the ATI Radeon HD 5750.

iMac line is at its maximum capability with Dual-core i3 and Core i5, and quad-core Core i5 and Core i7. This processor is integrated with memory controller that complements the 1333 MHz memory.

On the other hand, the ATI Radeon HD processors are created to produce clear and crisp images for gaming and software displays. The iMac display also uses IPS which enables the desktop to reach a wide 178 degree angle.

The SD card slots on these iMacs supports the SDXC format which is good for high-capacity storage cards. The 27-inch iMac can include 256GB solid state drive (SSD) as either a primary or secondary drive. Additionally, the iMac SSD can go up to 215 MB/s data transfer useful to startup and launch times.

The new 21.5-inch 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 iMac, for a suggested retail price of $1,199 (US), includes:

  • 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM expandable to 16GB;
  • ATI Radeon HD 4670 discrete graphics with 256MB GDDR3 SDRAM;
