Safari Gets Official Extensions Gallery
After Safari 5, came its 5.0.1 version. The latest version comes with an extension gallery that includes old third-parties plus new offerings like Twitter for Safari. The gallery includes extension from Twitter, MLB.com, Bing, eBay, Amazon and many more.
After Apple released the Safari 5 earlier this summer, one of its features is the ability to install third-party extensions. The company released today Safari 5.0.1 with an official extension gallery. The Safari Extension Gallery includes extensions built by Twitter, MLB.com, eBay, Bing, Amazon and more. Also available for one-click install are the best creations submitted by the developers over the last few weeks.
Just click on the “install now” button under the description if you want to install a new extension. The Official Safari Extensions Gallery can be accessed by clicking the Safari menu (or File, for Windows users), then selecting “Safari Extensions Gallery.” While waiting for the solution to appear, other storage like Pimp My Safari and SafariExtensions.Tumblr made a way for users and developers to improve their browsers. The official gallery has the same extensions but it also has some new offerings like the Twitter for Safari. This lets you create tweets that directly links to your current tab.
It’s an exciting thing to know that Apple has finally provided developers a way to add to browsers without using things like SIMBL. Although the company hasn’t made any notice about the extensibility of Safari Extensions, the fact that it is made in HTML and CSS means that it is possible to support mobile Safari.View Article Source »
