Europe is Coming Up with a Universal Charger
One-size-fits-all charger will be available in Europe in 2011. Charging any cellphone will not be a problem anymore.
Picture this: you are about to call your crush because you are running late for your date with her when your battery suddenly drained. Your own charger was nowhere to be found. You stupidly don’t remember the girl’s number so you can’t use a land line. You called your brother on the next room for help, but remembered he uses a different charger. You are about to scream ‘mom’ when, yeah, she got a different charger as well. It’s not the end of the world, at least if you’re living in Europe.
The European Commission experiences the same unfortunate event so they have decided to collaborate with top phone companies and make a universal charger. If all things goes well, by 2011, it is just a single charger for almost any cellphone.
The Commission has worked with 10 major cellphone makers, including Apple, Samsung, Motorola and Research in Motion. One great thing about this innovation is that once you upgrade to a new phone, you’ll have a spare charger to use.
And while you still have time and living outside Europe, better update your passport and pack your bags now.View Article Source »
