Dell walks into the thriving tablet market with a 5-inch machine and a lower price to boot. Dell Streak launches on August 12 starting with $299.99 with a two-year AT&T contract, and with $549.99 for an open-line version.

’s handy device is seeking to rival the on cost and usability. Its locked version’s value comes 40% less than the first baby of the market, and its unlocked version amounts up to only half the price of an 3G.
