Traversing the line between tablets and laptops has been a significantly successful venture for computer companies. Yet Toshiba tosses up a quirky contraption on the in-between line, and lets the world see two pre-existing gadgets like never before.

is ’s ticket to the booming market, plus a twist. W100 is a 1.5-pound, 7-inch dual-screen device running . But unlike the usual clamshell laptop, the traditional keyboard is replaced with a typing screen that works like the ’s virtual keyboard.

It is a tablet and another tablet pieced together, two lids closing like a laptop.  And it looks like all things come in two with the Libretto. Aside from a pair of screens, you get two batteries and a dual-core processor. Better than the iPad, this thing is. Is it really? What is for sure is that it costs twice more than the cheapest iPad.

Toshiba’s hybrid of a tablet and a laptop also comes in handy because users can convert the touch screen to a thumb keyboard whenever they are on the run. It is a tablet that can function as productively as any Windows laptop can do, e.g. run Office and Adobe Flash efficiently.

Take a peek at W100 from the video coming after the jump.
