FiOS folks, how would you like to stick your stuff in Verizon's cloud? The network's service is coming anytime soon, for one; cloud computing is the now, for another.

is prepping up for a year-ender launch of its cloud-based media streaming. Their servers allot each a 70-gigabyte storage space for their music, and videos. This service allows playback on devices on demand, such as your trusty laptop, or mobile phone.

And wherever there is a WiFi or 3G/4G connection, users can access their media anytime. To retrieve the uploaded content, they should use any of only five authorized devices. People from Verizon also assure the full-download capability of the streaming service, for those who want to make sure they will have something on playback when stuck in an unwired area.

When using another party’s computer, such as a friend’s or the company’s, access through browser will also be allowed, but not download for apparent reasons. Good news to customers, Verizon is sure to come up with the service before the year ends, running forth before iTunes-in-the-cloud materializes.
