Write and Self-Publish with the New iWork

Authors and non-authors alike would find something engaging in the improved Apple iWork suite of productivity apps. A couple of keywords here: write and publish.

The Thursday-released update for –version 9.0.4–included a feature that would let writers add their work to shelves. How? One app is the answer: . The word processor now runs compatible with the e-Pub format, which is supported by , making it possible for Pages users to write from different paragraph styles or downloadable templates–and publish the finished product on the ’s e-Reader.

Authors can now type away with their iPads, craft stories and poems and the like, and upload their own material anytime. But this is not an exclusively-for-authors thing, so non-writers, bring out the iPads too!

The Pages manuscripts can be uploaded to iBooks as you tap, tap, tap, so authors may get the hang out of self-publishing. The support site has displayed a document providing tips on writing in the .
