Painting Holograms with the iPad

It is not just an app berth, nor a hardware space to stuff your virtually sporadic software... Your iPad can paint magic, too.

The folks from Dentsu London and BERG have collaborated to create a series of awesome, charming that resulted to a . Their technique? Use an to single . Still clueless? Here is how they have done it:

First they create 3D models with frames in software. Each frame is outlined by a virtual CAT-like scan. They play the scan’s animation while dragging the iPad through space. The shapes extruded then are captured through long exposure .

The result? The iPads that have made the words and shapes on the screen are barely visible. Blurs of the people moving the iPads though are noticeable, making for a spooky effect. The video is more vibrant to watch, so why not give it a try?
