Apple Gets Hold of Trademark for a Tagline
To avoid copyright issues in the future, Apple made an action to trademark a phrase which serves as a tag line for their app store.
Apple recently claimed the copyright of the phrase, “There’s an app for that.” The company is known for laying strict protection against words, names and phrases pertaining to its products. In the past, there was a developer who created an app named iPodRip and got rejected by Apple because the name has close resemblance to the iPod trademark.
The trademark for the phrase was filed last December 2009 by Apple and covers “Retail store services featuring computer software provided via the Internet and other computer and electronic communication networks; retail store services featuring computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics.”View Article Source »
