Blekko: Human Touch Does the Trick

Meet the search engine dubbed as “Wikipedia meets search.”

, the newly launched , is giving it a more personal flavor by using human touch to gain more relevant results.

In a chat with Reuters, Blekko said that the human touch element is something that other search engine is missing.

Blekko CEO Rich Skrenta said, “tday is the first step in a process of building a volunteer army at Blekko that will eventually slash spam from search and deliver the most relevant results.”

How does a newbie use Blekko? This search engine does a “slashtag results.” Keywords should be typed in with slashtags at the beginning and then results come in from curated set of sites.

Observers find Blekko’s strategy to be intriguing but some experts say it is not really effective since the trend these days are for users to type less when doing search.
