Happy 3rd Birthday Google Android!

It seems like it was just yesterday when people laid their eyes on Android. The Google OS is now at its peak not just in mobile but also in tablets and home entertainment gadgets.

This month marked the third year of Google’s unrelenting battle against Apple thorugh the creation Android.

It was almost a year after the first Android handset, the g1, was released on T-Mobile. In the late 2009, the birth of the Motorola Droid took place which led to an aggressiveness marketing campaign. As of today, there are many manufacturers who produce Android devices which are sold in almost every part of the world. Now, they are outselling Apple’s iOS with a market share of 20%.

The Android OS is now on tablets and Internet TVs as well. Years from now, who knows what more boundaries Android will go beyond?

“Our vision is that the powerful platform we’re unveiling will power thousands of different phone models.” Google CEO Eric Schmidt once said.
