Diablo III Encounters Tougher Than Ever
It looks like Blizzard really wants to challenge their players. First World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, and now Diablo III. Well, it's about time.
According to the official website, Diablo III will now have a more dynamic encounter system that might push players over the edge. It seems that the days where we simply hack-and-slash, drink potion, run, and range are over as Blizzard unveiled that monsters will be a little smarter, more difficult as players require different strategies to overcome the odds. However, the fun is still intact as they managed to maintain the accessibility, speed, and forward momentum that the series is known for.
One scenario was given where players will encounter a throng of enemies coming one after another even if the player hasn’t killed of the first wave. The situations will be so dire, players will think twice if they’ll want to use their last 3 potions.
A major feature Diablo III will introduce to the series is the classification of the bestiary by behavior. Blizzard roughly calls one classification “Big Hit” and the other is “Frenzied”. “Big Hit” are your classic monsters that uses “telegraphed, obvious, and often slow attacks that do a great deal of damage if they hit you.” While “Frenzied” involves “a temporary state where their damage, hit points, defense, or other attributes are increased.” In other words, Frenzied beasts can kill you off quick, so it’s best to avoid them.
A dynamic combat strategy will be vital if you ever want to survive the harsh territories of Diablo III. Bring it on.
Diablo III is an upcoming dark fantasy, horror action role-playing game developed by Blizzard for the PC. The game takes place on a world of dark fantasy called Sanctuary. The world was saved some twenty years ago from the demonic forces of the underworld by a few brave and powerful heroes. But those heroes have gone mad after barely surviving the final confrontation. And now, players will return to Sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again.
