World of Warcraft 4th Expansion? What’s Next After Cataclysm?

Azeroth has been shattered and World of Warcraft is now under the mercy of Deathwing. But for alot of players and diehard fans out there, Deathwing's message of the end is just a build up for a bigger, much epic expansion.

As much as we want to focus on playing WOW: Cataclysm, grind through quests in Mount Hyjal or Uldum, get achievements and rare mounts, continuously queue for Heroic Dungeons, and ultimately defeat Deathwing’s pawns and the Aspect of Death himself, alot of us are already wondering who or what the champions will be facing 2 years from now.

It’s a pretty funny thing thinking about what’s next way before finishing what you’ve just started. But here are some pretty great and valid ideas from fans like you who have participated and trolled around various forums.

World of Warcraft: Emerald Dream

Eversince Vanilla WOW, the Emerald Dream has always been a viable and plausible storyline to follow thanks to the hints Blizzard has been planting in WoW:Classic, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, and even here in Cataclysm. Even though Malfurion has ultimately defeated Xavius and ‘restored’ the Emerald Dream to its pure state, corruption still looms as the nightmare rages on.

Is it a viable choice? Most likely. By the way things are going, the great dragon aspects are falling slowly into corruption one by one. First there was Malygos who blindly waged war against all mortal magic casters in the planet and threatened to keep all the magic to himself, his dragonflight, and a number of his loyal followers. And now we have Deathwing, another dragon aspect, who fell to the whisperings of the Old Gods and succumbed to the lust of power. He’s now flying around Azeroth burning everything in sight.

With Malygos and (soon) Deathwing gone, it won’t be a far-off prediction that another dragon aspect may get corrupted soon. Ysera fell to corruption as we’ve seen in Wrath of the Lich King. Maybe the Old Gods will go all the way with her and make her corrupt all life in Azeroth.

World of Warcraft: The Infinites

We’ve heard them before in Wrath of the Lich King, particularly while we’re following Nozdormu and Chromie in Dragonblight and The Culling of Stratholme. Will it be possible that we get a whole expansion instead of another side story? Like what we’ve mentioned above, the dragon aspects are vulnerable against the whisperings of the Old Gods except for Alexstrasza (God if she ever gets corrupted, we’re so doomed).

We’ve learned from the past that the Old Gods are capable of intervening Nozdormu’s reign over time itself. And with speculations that the great Bronze Dragon Aspect himself is the leader of the rogue Infinite Dragonflight, could this mean that Aman’thul’s champion has fallen to the old masters of the planet in an attempt to live forever? Either way, time and ultimately Azeroth will be in much discord beyond mortal comprehension should this happen.

World of Warcraft: The Old Gods

We’ve heard of them since the original World of Warcraft. We’ve seen C’thun, Yogg-Saron, and N’zoth. With only one, two or even more left in Azeroth (that is to assume all of the previous Old Gods die), and with the Twilight Cult taking the stage as they wreck havoc over the mortal races of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms And Cataclysm seems to have a very vivid connection with the Old Gods, will it be a matter of time until the Old Gods themselves reveal their horrific faces and made known to the denizens of the planet who’s the real ruler of Azeroth?

World of Warcraft: The Burning Legion

It’s been a while since we’ve last heard of Sargeras and his relentless army of demons. Burning Crusade only touched the surface of the mighty Burning Legion as the expansion focused more on the denizens of Outland and how they were corrupted by the Legion plus the crazy misadventures of Illidan and his posse. Perhaps it’s high time for the fallen titan and his creatures from the Twisting Nether to finally finish what they’ve started in Azeroth.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Hogger

He’s terrorized Elwynn Forest, and he returned in Cataclysm as Heroic: Stockades’ last boss. Will it be a matter of time before Hogger and his infinite number of Gnoll minions plot to take over Azeroth and defeat any champion who dares to stop them?!

What do YOU think will next expansion’s main storyline revolve on? Are we going to see a direct intervention from the Titans and see them in all of their glory? Will we finally witness a Titans vs Old Gods brawlfest that we’ve waited since forever? Or are we gonna see Varian Wrynn duel Garrosh to the death in an expansion that will utterly destroy either the Alliance or the Horde?

I think we’ve already learned that Blizzard picks their material up from the most unsuspecting storyline. I never even knew Deathwing until Cataclysm! So we’ll probably expect a surprise visit from an unknown enemy in the next expansion. Either way, I’d love to explore on WOW: The Old Gods.

if you recall there is a quest in cata where a green dragon sends you into the emerald dream to find Fandral Staghelm. The quest isnt druid only, so it could be plausible.

Emerald Dream and a third faction .. that would be great. For those who have not done so yet, take the road out of UC into silverpine and look for the very first place, the high command. Lady Sylvanas starts the series, follow the quest line until you get to Seplecure. Hmmm … the leader of the “forsaken” (aka: the undead) is really a Blood Elf. The Worgen are merely trying to eek out a home and they get no help from the humans. Also, the Worgen are immune to the undead curse… that could prove favorable to Sylvanas. As she says, “before they were the undead, this was their home. It is their home still. But the alliance doesn’t see it that way.” To secure their homeland, once and for all, ally with the Worgen to drive out the alliance… Blood Elf, Undead, Worgen and, perhaps, a new race? Sort of Curious how BGs would work then? Any ideas?

This is brilliant. Not nesseccarily make like 6 new races, but have a few from both factions join up and ttry to kick everybody else’s ass. Battlegrounds would also have a sweet new twist.

You need to read stormrage. The Emerald Dream was reached by more then just druids (albiet with the help of the cenarion circle) in the defeat of the Emerald Nightmare.

I like the old gods and emerald dream best, but also a good one is like a flood, azhara is part of cataclysm and cataclysm only goes to 85, so to finish at 90 azhara would cause some wierd flood or something

As long as the new Alliance race gets racials that are just as good or better than the goblins, I’m fine whichever. But I don’t know how Nagas would pan out to be a part of any faction.

Murlocs can’t be part of any faction either because of what they did to the Darkspear and what they did to Elwynn Forest residents. However, I doubt they’ll release a new race, they’ll probably release either a new faction lead by Sylvanas (Because of the crap she did in Gilneas) or a new hero class. (Probably a new class).

Blizzard has said that from now they will switch between hero class and new races each expansion, so we’re gonna see a new hero class next expansion. As for race ideas, i don’t think they’ll make murlocs a playable race (as cool as that would be) because they trust no one and they don’t build cities and aren’t exactly bright. the naga have allied themselves with Kael’thas and therefor Illidan and therefor demons and Blizz doesn’t want to say either the Alliance or the Horde is evil so that rules them out. Races that i could see working that almost no one talks about are the Mok’nathal (Horde) and the Vrykul (Alliance). The Mok’nathal could need help with the rise of the Burning Legion and there could be a clan of Vrykul that forms or breaks away from the exsisting clans after seeing the Lich King defeated to ally themselves with those who defeated they’re old “death god” as they called him. With this in mind, i guess Blizz could make the Vrykul neutral if they really wanted to or so that you could choose which side you wanted your Vrykul to be on when you make it and they could both have the same starter zone quest line at the end of which they join the side you chose, sort of like the death knights.

I thought so cuz, i think that azeroth should finally fall, or how is blizz going to end it.

i belive the “world of warcraft: rise of the forsaken idea isn’t so bad. i know since i lvled an undead the sylvanas windrunner uses the same powers as the lich king used to restore her forsaken army’s.
and wrath of the hogger makes no sence. why would they build up the story with cataclysm and the ruin it with a no point expanison.
i belive the emerald dream to come next. then from 90-95 the fifth expansion will be some kind of epic war against horde and alliance, where no one will be victorius but that all the races of the world will be rather go their own way from the alliance and the horde:
for the alliance:
the dwarf kindom will be splitted in three parts.
the night-elfs will retreat to northern kalimdor in peace and to stay neutral.
the worgens will build up their own city.
the gomes will take back and build up gnomeregan to their city and even expend it to over the mountains and to the shore on the other side.
and the humans will do anything to defend the few lands they have left (stormwind will fall, that’s why they made stormwind the main city for all alliance in cata)
for the horde:
the troll tribes will unite with the drakkari and the zandalari to become one big force sweeping over azeroth taking back their lost lands neutral from all horde members and aggresive to all alliance..
the blood elfs will have their sunveil restored and they will live in the northern eastern kingdoms as neutrals.
the orcs tired after the war will be seeking for a new home after their orgrimmar has been destroyed by the force of alliance. they will find that in the southern and northern barrens and mulgore.
tauren will be helping the orcs to build up their homes and to restore the horde as it once was.
then the next expension will be something like the old gods where we witness both the ancient war and the aswell facing the gods. then the alliance will unite again in the battle against them so with the horde.

well, ya see, while WoW is a strong lorecraft game, blizzard is a corporation and wants to make money. And a many of its subscribers are PvP oriented. If the factions break then there is no more pvp and a large chunk of subs go away. Now, what about Dreanei and Goblins, I asume Goblins will rebuild Kezan and trade again. But the dreanei may not want to leave Azeroth even though they stay to fufill there Alliance.

I think the biggest enemy that will be faced in WOW is boredom. They went from EQ to Diablo, and hey, yeah, it’s all good…but they dumbed it down too much for the real players (to appeal to the noobs) and it’s still too hard on certain raids for noobs. EQ, which was a freaking awesome game until you got to the point that you could NOT solo and you had to group, and then it became a waiting game as one tank, one nuke, one healer, and whatever else joined in, sometimes waiting 3-4 hours for a group to assemble. During that time, you just chatted. I thought of it as a chat room with costumes. WOW, at least, you can go make some money as solo doing dailies, but it is too much Diablo and not enough challenge. Pretty soon, Boredom will selep and sweep the land. See what happens next.

this seems touchy subject but if they did focus on dragonflights i would want a new hero class. Like you were trained at wyrmest temple as a dragon but another flight got corrupted and totally trashed the place like Ysera or somethin. So your sent off to each race’s starting zones and begin yur journey to restore your flight’s pride/glory whatever; you choose your flight at character creation thing or you could be from one flight instead(Choose Red,Bronze or Green) and the talent trees would be like red(defensive/tank) bronze(dps/melee range) green(healer). and when you get to lvl 60(flying trainer now) you can turn into a dragon =) yur your own mount. the more i think on this idea the more i think of stuff!

Knowing Blizzard and they way they recycle content, I’ll bet good money we see the Lich King again. It’s also not unreasonable to believe they’d do something with the Burning Legion next, maybe to bring Outlands back to life…perhaps Demon Hunter for both Horde/Alliance since that would fit along with it. Personally, I’d like to see a Battlemage class (no, enhancement shaman don’t count!)

The Lich King was an ally of the Burning Crusade for long enough and he caused enough trouble. We probably wont see anything about him until a great climax in the story (probably nearing the end of the stoyline in the game) calling upon him to help the other amazing heroes defeat some great enemy.

I suppose that there could be a scenario after Cata where the old gods could take over and the titans cuold destroy azeroth and the horde and alliance flee to outland. maybe you could go back to azeroth ( now a wasteland like burning steps) and try to stop deathwings army from getting through the dark protal ( this could be a raid like the violet hold that you would need to complete to gain entry the ruins of azeroth zone. There could also be lots of quests in trying to bring life through the emeral dream in to azeroth. level cap raised to 95 maybe.

That would never happen, mainly because the Old Gods can’t take over because they have never even hinted to have worked together, if anything like that ever happened it would be more likely that they’d fight amongst themselves for power. When the Titans were defeating them they didn’t get defeated at the same time, they got defeated one by one. Also, C’thun was defeated by himself without hinting any other old gods or receiving help from any either. Same with Yogg-Saron. N’Zath is also the only one corrupting Deathwing. (Possibly we wont have to kill another aspect, and instead we’ll have to defeat N’Zath, or we’ll defeat both of them in the same raid.) So I doubt the Old Gods would work together, plus their power isn’t great enough to break their prisons and overcome the mortals of Azeroth. Also, they could only defeat one Titan, so they can’t be that great.

Yea, i could definitley see blizzard doing that, i mean they practically reformed azeroth, its about time the outlands returns. And the demon hunter seems to have been quite a topic over the few expansions and blizzard does listin to there players. However, seeing as the cap is 85 not 90, it could be inffered that we most likely that the catacalysm is only the first part of a larger plot. And with Azeroth practically destroyed i have a feeling they have some plot in mind to create a wow 2.0 in order to keep up with its newer competetors like Aion. Hey, i guess we will just have to wait and see.

Please let the next expansion add Naga as a race of there own where they are totally against alliance and horde. Also the cities and quests be in a whole different environment…”in the sea”.Since Naga are land and sea compatible it would be awesome.They should also bring in a new class which really needs to be added. Such as have magic lift foes to throw or even just have them float so they cant move, kinda like root.mental poweror what ever you want to call it.

i think that their should make a 3rd group so it would be horde and alliance and this new group it could be made up of all the races that people want like naga and ogres e.t the naga could call a meeting of the races that hav lost everything and now its time for them to join together and fight back the horde and alliance the naga would be the leaders but then u think about their wouldnt be anything to kill but they could hav differnt tribes for the people that didnt want to join the new group

What about exploring the Dragon-flights in more detail, maybe even having new flights show up, like a white etc.Or even having civil war within each faction, eg, the Trolls and Tauren leave the Horde because Garrosh killed Cairne and Vol’jin just hates him. And for the Alliance have the Dark Iron Dwarves take over IronForge and declare war, and also have the Draenei become corrupted or something. I also like Ringo’s idea of Azeroth being destroyed and taken over, then you have to procure help from the new Lich King, Northrend in general, the Ancients, somewhere in The Emerald Dream and somewhere else, maybe Illidan could return somehow ? Also, new races could be the Pandaren for the Alliance and Ogres for the Horde.

I think the next one will have Azshara as the villian. We will definitely see Stormwind repaired and Orgrimmar finished. I think there will be a few more zones to level from 85-90. One will be in the sea west of the Maelstrom as that is supposed to be where Azshara was banished to. One or more will more than likely be underwater like Vash’jir, since the underwater zone is new to Blizz and they can expand on many things in this area suck as underwater mounts i.e. the seahorse from Vash’jir. I think the next hero class will be either a Archdruid, as to be used in the storyline to deal with Azshara as the druids in Ashenvale/Azshara did, according to lore. Or I would like to see a new caster hero class. They would probably be a leather or mail wearer as they are the minority of armor wearers atm. This class would possibly be, or have the ability to heal. So possibly a monk, or archmage….and thats my prediction

I like the idea of the third faction. But I think Varian Wrynn should die because all the other Alliance race leaders have died and somebody took their place. What would the third faction be called?

Varian can’t die off because since he’s a king if they kill him off his son would have to take control (again) and that would piss everyone off.

a new hero class would be great. i’d love to see a dragoon or something of the like. it would fit right in with the dragon-theme of Cata, but would need to not be super OP like the DK’s were.
it would also have to be difficult in level to unlock (like say you’d have to have at least one lvl 85 or even 90 to make a dragoon) sp everyone wouldn’t be able to just make one right away.

id like to see a group from ethreal join the horde but if so than the alliance would have to get another neutral group i say that the next expansion should be called world of warcraft: the beginning of the end. in which the greatest enemies of azeroth(that arent dead(deathwing , lich king etc)) start tearing apart azeroth and each day the players of each faction must kill a certain amount of enemy monsters that are assisting deathwing and other enemies of azeroth and if the players dont meet that certain number the ones of that number that werent killed will spawn around their cities the next day also the enemies should be limited each day and after you kill the required number or more for a certain amount of days in a row they start coming with higher stats and more of them and if you kill more than required in a day the next days enemies wont have as many required to be killed and after a certain amount of time their leader shows up with a large army of enemies at the factions main citys gates and you have to kill atleast 70% of the enemies in 12 hours and then you must kill their leader and after a certain amount of daily kills is not met for a amount of days in a row than your factions cities start to lose health (yes i said it cities will have health in my idea of the next expansion so if the enemies attack the city walls the walls will start to break and then when the city is either completely razed or their leader is killed the city runs out of health and does not count towards anything untill it is rebuilt) and their will be a new proffesion building where you can build balistas or other extremely dangorous weapons though they are stationary and they can also rebuild the city walls and other buildings. the city walls would need to have 10m health and the buildings in the city each have 900k health exept the building where their leader is which has 900m health and things like balistas health will depend on what its fortified with ( yeah builders will get to fortify things with ore from metal or metal bars to increase health ) and then the engineers will be able to upgrade the projetiles damage with gunpowder , metals , or rocks also their will be a pvp-pve hybrid where you que for a group or find one yourself and guard specific places around cities and other areas that that faction controls or they could raid pve enemy or pvp enemy bases and other controlled places and then either raze it or capture it also you will be able to buy soldiers for this pve/pvp but are only usable in that and you can upgrade your soldiers armour , talents and weapons and their will be these types of soldiers cavalry(soldiers who use mounts and can attack while mounted), infantry ( foot soldiers), guards (who stay close to their leader(you or the city leader or faction leader)) and raiders(who move at 700% speed in stealth (yes they have stealth) and break stealth when attacking enemies or attacking their base(they cant be detected in stealth)) the level cap will be raised to 100 and at the beginning of the expansion all of the neutral factions will pick sides exept for the neutral enemies and you will be able to choose out of any of the races that you faction is allied with and all classes will start at leval 55 and once you hit maximum level you can be in the factions with the pve enemies that are atttacking the cities and for every 50 enemy kills you get a champion point which you can spend on incredibly powerful gear that binds on equip and has high stats for both pve and pvp situations but if your on the third faction called the onslaught (the faction that is against alliance and horde that will be in this expansion) you get vile points in which you can get gear similar to the gear you get for champion points except that it has insanely high stats for pvp but in a pve situation it changes to pve untill your out of that situation than pvp again and their faction has all of the races of azeroth and outland that havnen’t gone to alliance or horde and the races in that faction start at leval 100 right away also when you die in the pvp/pve instance you appear in your factions capital city or one of their base camps with full health and max on whatever your class uses to cast spells or use attacks and what ever classes that race has had in the past expansions it will have in this one also builders will be able to create barricades that have 30000 health unless they are fortified the barricades will have spikes on them causing them to inflict 60k damage on each contact and if it is fortified with jewels by jewelcrafters than it will reflect 60% damage from ranged attacks and their will be something in each city or base camp called a supply depot in which has infinite supplies you type in the name of the supply you need (metals , rocks , gems and other non damage dealing objects used for fortifacation ,upgrades and making needed objects) and how many of it you need you can have a maximum of 100 total supplies from each of the depots each day you can upgrade the depot buy upgrading it with metals or paying the master builder to upgrade the depots for 100 gold (he upgrades all of them by 100) you can also rebel against your faction and join the onslaught to join the onslaught from the the alliance or horde you must get the quest, more help!!! from a dieing onslaught soldier outside of a base camp or city (in which will have 1 health left) if your in the horde you quest will be to kill 20 artillary soldiers on top of the city walls(you cant buy these(they are stationary to the artillary)(they will be labeled friendly and will not attack you(you kill them by using a concealable dagger given by the dieing onslaught soldier on one and then it will instantly die this will only work on one but the artillary soldier will not respawn you can mount his/her artillary weapon from their you can shoot artillary soldiers on balistas , shoot the gunpowder kegs by cannon artillary soldiers and shoot the rocket on the rocket artillary (made by either dwarfs or goblins( there are 500 artillary soldiers to a city and 300 to a base camp( the will respawn after they hit 10 or less left ))))) and if your in the alliance you use gunpowder kegs found near hunters with rifles to destroy 3 barricades and slay 12 war grypons(which will have a keg of gunpowder on strapped to them and a rifle on a holster on the other side) you will also need a torch for these tasks you can find a torch along walls the war grypons are mountable just as a note then no matter if your alliance or horde a blackwing dragon will fly in and pick up all of the former alliance or horde members and bring them to the onslaught capital which will be a fortified crypt on top of icecrown which will have 90 elemental cannons (which are floating spheres that shoot out their element in which does 10k elemental damage(not lowered by resistances) scattered around the outside of the crypt it will also have frost wyrms circling icecrown using a non-player move called ice blitz in which is a 2 second cast it cant be dispelled and it causes flying mounts to instantly dismount it also causes 200% fall speed on the player that was hit and causes any druid flight forms to be unusable untill they touch ground again the frost wyrms will be hostile towards the alliance and the horde it will be friendly towards the onslaught the crypt will also have a barricade surrounding it that has 50k health and inflicts 10k damage on every contact and absorbs spells and causes any damage that would be caused on it as healing damage and the crypts walls have 700k health and 200 on every magical resistance and it will have a magic wall that appears over the entrance that cant be walked through but anyone can go through from the inside the wall has 90k health and deflects damaging spells, melee attacks can damage it when the crypt walls are destroyed than there is a orb of tranlocation that has 70k health that teleports to the outland in which the dark portal has closed so the only ways in are orbs of translocation that can take you there but they are scattered along azeroth and there are only 5 of them the orbs of translocation that take you to outland all take you to blades edge mountains but they take you to a random place there though but those places can all be left without dieing

I could see the World of Warcraft: Emerald Dream as the next Expansion from what I know there is enough lore for it and then do The Burning Legion and finsh with the old goods.

but for a new Hero class. I can see what I would call a chemist class. it would wear cloth/ leather and use potions in a AoE fashion to heal or dps and no range attacks at all. . but it would could fist or one handed weapons for melee.

I pray to god it’s nothing to do with the emerald dream…i just find all that lore boring :/ I like BuddyKarsten’s idea of having home cities attacked but maybe only do it during the first weeks of the expansion, then to get out of it have the new Lich King send some troops to help maybe ? If he can remain in control of himself. Also, the Horde needs Thrall back. Also, Garrosh could not give power back to Thrall therefore making Vol’Jin and Baine Bloodhoof follow Thrall rather than Garrosh. Likewise with the Alliance, have the Dark Iron Dwarves take over Ironforge, and make them split with the Alliance. The new hero class could be a Spell-Blade, a mail wearing Warrior/Mage cross, having a mix of offence spells and melee moves. I got more ideas but I can’t put them all down in a sensible orders :L

i really just think that they should bring back some of the old school things….such as, giving horde one type of class and ally a diff class instead of making each side able to get the same classes….kinda like when pallys were just ally and shammys were just horde….i think it makes people make smarter choices about what side they pick to end up playing. maybe demon hunter on ally side and spirt walker on the horde side? something like that…for the hero class that is..if they end up putting them in this time, and even for the non hero class…like monk on ally and primals on the horde side, just a thought!

this expansion would bring the game from level 90 to 100 with 10 lvls available now because there would be so much more to do with a whole new world that ties to the same lore as world of warcraft and maybe something like more emerald gates which would then make conspiracy to why this exzists on another planet

I doubt the Naga will be a race, because what would their mount be, their would be no boot or leg items for them and the horde and the alliance hate them :L i think the Panderan for the alliance and Ogres for the horde would be cool. I also have a feeling that Outland will be included again, but on a bigger scale and in more detail.

But the new xpac shouldn’t be infinites or old gods. After the dragonflights and old gods and crap behind cata, i think players will need a break from those types of enemies. I think they should do a Great Seas expansion, with zones such as Tel’Abim, the Broken Isles, and Kul Tiras as new zones. This might not be a high level expansion, it could just make an alternative to lvling in Outland or Northerend.

When Nerzul opened all the portals on Draenor blizz really laid the groundwork for unending adventures. Outland could become the hub for additonal worlds and factions being introduced and or for heroes to visit other worlds to help fight off the burning legion and who knows what else. Maybe SPACE GNOMES! (Spelljammer, anyone?)

Can’t because Draenor was blown apart destroying basically all the portals except for the one to Azeroth. Unless Blizzard wants to fly around the Twisting Nether looking for the other pieces, I’d say that probably wont happen, unless the world magically comes back together.

Well .. the thing is that blizz is running out of lore. So the next expansion should be based on the emerald dream and/or the old titans , cause that’s the only thing that’s left in the lore.
After that , they need to create warcraft 4 (as they said they’re gonna bring it around 2015 ) so they can have what to create in the next expansion.
As i understood , blizz is going to create expansions till they reach level 120 or 125. So that’s a lot of work in my oppinion

I think they should have something like pure chaos, the emerald nightmare returns at full strength, right as bolvar becomes corrupt and turns the armies of the undead on azeroth, and the burning legion comes back lead by sargeras this time, the dragon flights all turn on each other and mankind alike, the old gods re surface. Just everyone is killing each other in mass genocide and somehow you have to make it through the chaos…..oh and huge insta kill mobs walking around like fel reavers…just for funzies…just everyday you see thousands of bodies everywhere, with all factions (player and computer) fighting each other. It would be insane to wath the burning legion fight the armies of the undead

Well, It ends up the one behind the Emerald Nightmare isn’t actually Xavius. N’Zath, the newly released old god is the one behind it. With this, he controlled Deathwing. DW became evil in the first place do to the old god’s whisperings. The one whispering to him was N’Zath. N’zath is trapped under-neath Vash’jir, explaining the Faceless ones there. Deathwing is infact a pawn to N’zath, to open up the world and release N’zath from his “prison..”

I like the emelard dream idea and the third faction. I think it would be cool but hard if they made the ‘Middle’ or ‘ Neutral’ race as dragons exploring the lore and story lines of the five flights. Maybe make it like DK where you start at a higher lvl. And you could see more of the different areas where dragons live quest and watch the mortal worlds. And the ablility to create a ‘guise’ of a mortal creature allowing access to both the Horde and Alliance quest lines. Crimson Flight- Fighters of Life, Warriors. Emerald Flight- Makers of Dreams, Druids. Bronze Flight- Watchers of Time, Rogues. Azure Flight- Creators of Magic, Mages. Black Flight(without Deathwing)- Surviors of the Purge, Warlocks.

Given their track record, I’m willing to bet that Blizzard will simply “revamp” Outlands and call it “World of Warcraft: The Burning Legion” (as this article says). You’ll notice that Outlands and Wrath were completely untouched by the Cataclysm and, strangely, from 58-80 you will never hear Deathwing mentioned once. This was supposed to be ironed out before Cata got released but, well, it’s Blizzard, they didn’t. So I absolutely think that Outlands is being targeted for future expansion material. Get ready to pay $40 to replay a 4+ year old expansion.

Of course, this will be after several months of re-release filler, probably AQ or MC.

I think Blizzard should make the old gods get their power back by killing all of the dragon aspects and you can make a dragon at at around the lvl you do the quests for the dragons and you see them all die and then you can be a part of a new faction and you can be a bronze dragon a red a black a blue etc. (and deathwing is the earth warder again) and you fight with the people in your area to help bring the aspects back to life and its all one epic battle in the finish the aspects and you and everyone else come together and finally defeat the old gods but in the next x-pack there not dead they just cant do anything and they make an anchient race come back to recerect them to full power and they go to outlands and make it drenor again and open some portals again to other worlds and those will be quest hubs in the X-pack after that i dont know what the x-packs should be called but i think it’d be epic

Well I personally think it wouldn’t be so… I think they made storyline a long ago and they know every move they do! They tought of every expansion even before Warcraft was relased; probably it will be WOW: Rise of Azeroth because Cataclysm wasn’t relased so they make old content runs after that. NO obv NOT! Next one will be, imo, rise of Ally and Horde sides, new races and a new class. If you like to be a philosophist.. WoW: Classis – TBC(2races) – WotLK (+1class) – Cata(2races) – Rise of Azeroth (+1ckass).. Logically yes; altough the Azeroth’s rise will improve PvE side but PvP will not stay the same.. I think there will be a new system of comunications Ally-Horde and that they will be able to group up and do some quests (new quests, harder ones)… Indeed +LEVEL! They will be making this expansion easier and faster than other expansions due to new technologies and there will be lvl 100 now…

Of those choices I would have to lean more towards the old Gods. I dont think blizzard wants to concentrate on different aspects of the same thing…but the hogger one might work as well!

Although it may sound slightly silly I do think that the wrath of hogger does make some sence because in theory he is a rather powerful character and does have a very large army that could deffonatly do some damage should they gain some form of magical power to make them grow stronger, the same goes for the Infinites. A fight between Varian Wrynn and Garrosh would also be great to see just to bring it back to the games roots of an on going battle between the Allience and the Horde. The emerald dream does seem to be the most logical choice but it could potentially end the game which I don’t think anyone wants. In my opinion the next expansion pack should contain a rise to power such as The Infinites or Wrath of Hogger because done correctly it would be a fun game that would twist the world of Azeroth also with the comedy of Hogger being back which Blizzard love to add in

i was thinking… blizz won’t use up all the big-shots. U have to have some characters left to make something like wc4 or wow2 or warcraft hack’n'slash rpg later on…
Then it crossed my mind: ”there might be another great chunk of outland” or better still a new unique world created by titans just like dreonar or azeroth and threatened by the legion… 2 or 4 new races which would side with horde or alliance and unique new zones something out of the ordianary. Horde and Alliance race to control as much as possible of the new world and it’s new resources. Burning Legion aside, the new world would have it’s own problems just like azeroth and dreanor have so it would me more material for more content in the future.

I’m against using up azeroth and leaving it with nothing left, then searching for other solutions…
It is more fun when peril awaits you on every turn…

( in case of new chunk of outland viable races would be a Sporeggar faction , Ogre Clan, those cosmortium fellows, the Broken, even the pandaren, or even arakkoa)

I think it would be epic if all of the fog and C02 in the gnomes districts of stormwind was to melt Northrend and flood the whole of the world (of warcraft) and so to prevent this you must go on a quest called “Be The Eon Inspector” and fit solar pannles on all the roofs in every city to unlock the title of “The Green Giant”

The only logical choice is something Burning Legion related with a major Outlands update. Surely they can’t leave Outlands the way it is for yet another expansion. I definitely see Demonhunter as a new class. That Felwood quest line sealed it for me. You were tasked to kill a Demonhunter only to discover he was a pretty good guy, and he tries to show you Illidan and cronies were simply misunderstood. Bank on it.

They absolutely CANNOT finish the wow universe without first clearling up the major issues. From the beginning they have said that there will only be 6 expansions. With Cataclysm being the third, that leaves 3 left. The old gods have not only shown that they can corrupt the Aspects, but that they intend to corrupt them all. The next expansion should be The Old Gods, as I cant see Alexstraza letting what happened to Deathwing happen to any of the other aspects. It would be too much of a risk. The next one after that would probably have to be the emerald dream, because they would need Ysera for the final expansion which i thoroughly believe would have to be the defeat of not only the burning legion, but of Sargaras himself. He has always shown an interest in the powerful magics the titans bestowed upon Azeroth and the story will never be complete as long as he is trying to get to Azeroth. And to be honest, I cannot think of anyone or anything more epic as the last true evil threat to Azeroth than Sargaras. There really isnt much left after we kill Deathwing, who was created by the titans, but to kill a titan itself. I would have the titans return to Azeroth and aid us in an epic battle against Sargaras. This is what i hope will happen but it might be a long shot

But wouldn’t it be kind of interesting if all of the races had a long lost brother or something like that, for instance, maybe an ogre they’re like orcs, except they join a different faction, as if they didn’t agree with the beliefs, religion, government haha. ( If WoW even has a religion) It would be kind of cool if the different races kept them as a secret so no one would know but they find out ?

SARGERAS IS NOT MORE POWERFULL&EVIL THAN THE OLD GODS! in warcraft ‘The war of the anncients’ it states repitedly that the old gods manipulated Sargeras in to beliving he was going to enter Azeroth via the portal when actually they were going to instead also Sargeras is a titan (a powerfull one) but the old gods are supposed to be more powerfull coz when the titans (the pantheon) defeated them in the war it was only becouse there were lots of them and only a few old gods. ps: btw all the old gods had a hand in corupting deathwing.

how about Deathwing releases N’zath but N’zath goes to betray Deathwing after “killing” the other aspects (Alexstraza escapes secretly thanks to us) so Deathwings fights a feudal fight with N’zath ultimately failing but as Deathwing dies his insanity and corruption disappears and feeling ashamed of all he has done he grants a lowly mortal (different based on the race u chose) the powers of his aspect turning whatever being u chosen to a dragoon, dragon mystic, or dragon disciple(talent trees) dragoon wld be a tank spec, dragon mystic wld be either magical dps or healer, and dragon disciple cld allow u to transform into a dragon form and do dps then the expans wld be about bringing down N’zath

Bending earth? that’s nature damage, mages stand for magical damage, shamans can bend earth(earth shock, greater earth elemental, stoneskin totem, strength of earth totem.)

Why doesn’t anyone suggest the Blademaster as a hero class? It was actually a hero in Warcraft III and so was the Death Knight. That’s why it was called a “hero” class and not a “super” class or something like that. And why monks? As neat as it sounds, they’ve already exasted the “holy warrior/healer” w/ paladins. The only other hero I could see becoming a class would be the Demon Hunter and you could do an Archdruid if Blizz does the Emerald Dream as an expansion which I doubt because everyone’s expecting it. Blizz will probably have an Outland theme and a Northrend/ new Lich King or Queen for next (and possibly last) 2 expansions. Blizz has only projected 2 more WoW expansions for now and w/ Titan coming, they may be to busy to do WoW expansions. Lol! Wrath of the Hogger would be intense, but I agree with Guy. Especially since the zone Verdant Fields already has a v0.1 map zone, name, and layout. (must play private server, glitch, or hack into) But if the zones already created, then of course they’ll finish it.

Also, my guess is that Emerald Dream expansion will most likely open up the Quel’thalas zone. So get prepared guys!

I’m seeing a pattern of Dragonflights being brought up, but definately not discussed enough. What I imagine is a Caverns of Time revamp. Bringing back phases of Azeroth, and making lore a bigger part of the game. I can see Emerald Dream, Old Gods, and War of Shifting Sands being game patches. All including raid content and experiencing a whole new aspect of story lines in an MMORPG. Golden ticket idea? I think yes.

So I like the Idea About The War between The Horde and the Alliance. But i think More Happen’s Then that.

The Dwarf’s Will most likely be wiped out of Ironforge. And will be seeking refuge after a great war. With menethil harbor as their port i see the dwarfs taking its kind over to theramore. When the dwarfs make landfall The tauren and orc will most likely be the first to greet the dwarfs. but not with assault but with open arms. The dwarfs are from the earth, born from troggs. And Having the Tauren the Orc’s And the Dwarf’s put together seem’s Fitting. They are the strongest and most powerfull of The old Horde and Alliance.
The Night Elf’s and Worgen already will be friends so by this time i can see them joining together. But The Troll’s will be joining with them. Calm and peacfull they all are in nature. except for the Worgen. But the worgen have learned to control themselves.
The Goblins and Gnomes Will join together. Commanding the economy and building even more advanced tech when they put their knowledge together.
And then we have The Scourge and the Humans. Now lady Sylvanis was a Blood Elf. But she will see the Human’s As more Of a threat than anything. So in order to keep themselves safe the Scourge and the Human’s will join forces in a treaty not a friendship.
The Draenei and Blood Elves Have never seen a more opportune time then now to make it back to The Outlands and create a safe haven. The Draenei and The Blood Elves have much to offer each other and start to see eye to eye.

Eventually I see this all taking a turn for the better

The Tauren Orcs And Dwarfs Command the power on every front. They are the strongest and have the knowledge to create weapons made of raw metal’s and Can build fort’s almost anywhere.The Night Elves The Trolls And the Worgen, Are the smartest. Being very peacefull they stay out of most problemsGoblins and gnomes control the economy and do with it as they see fitHuman’s and Scourge Are just holding on to what they have as they rebuildDraenei And Blood Elves Do what they do in Outlands making it their home World.When everyone is having trouble surviving, They Turn to eachother. And when that happens The Horde and the Alliance will become one. But that’s not even the start of it. A great enemy will rise. and the horde and the alliance will have to learn to work together to defeat it’s common enemy. The Dragon Aspect’s, they will see the people of azeroth weakend, and try to attack. All hell will break loose and we might even see the New Lich King lend his hand in saving azeroth, as he needs a home to live too. This Expansion would be called- World of Warcraft: The Rebirth Of Azeroth
