Nintendo Gets Wii 2 Strategy Screwed

With no follow for Nintendo Wii 2, gamers are wondering: Did Nintendo blow their strategy? One high profile analyst thinks so.
Just within 24 months of Nintendo Wii’s release, there were already rumblings of a Wii HD or Wii 2. Though predictions as to when the next Wii console will arrive keeps popping out, follow up details were still scarce. One reason is that Nintendo blew their strategy for the Wii 2. That is according to a gaming analyst luminary, Michael Patcher.
“With as much respect for Nintendo management as I can muster, I think Nintendo’s completely blown it with their second generation Wii strategy.”
“I think the right strategy would have been to get a second generation Wii out and keep the old Wii at the same time, and have the second generation be the natural progression upgrade model.”
Though Nintendo Wii is still the best-selling console worldwide, PS3 and Xbox 360 has closed the gap. Hence, there isn’t much for Wii on the horizon. Do you agree with what Michael Patcher said? Let Gadg know by leaving a comment.
