Aerith’s Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Appearance Explained
Let the sound of squealing fanboys begin as Final Fantasy VII's Aerith makes an appearance in Duodecim 012 Final Fantasy as a support character.
One of the most popular female characters in the Final Fantasy universe is going to make an appearance in the latest FF fighting crossover, Dissidia Duodecim : Final Fantasy. Aerith Gainsborough, the (SPOILER alert!) dead heroine of Final Fantasy VII will once again be back in another Final Fantasy game. Don’t get your hopes too high up though, especially you fanboys, as reports confirm that Aerith will only be an assist character rather than a playable one.
Duodecim director Mitsunori Takahashi revealed in an interview with Famitsu that Aerith will somehow be more of a support support character, meaning that instead of using damaging spells and attacks, she will using several abilities that would put her main character at a huge advantage. One of the abilities mentioned is her “Hoshi no Shugo,” which makes her allies invincible for a moment. The inclusion of this type of support character certainly changes the tables a bit.
Although there are no in-game pictures available, reports explain that Aerith will be using her Advent Children look. She will also be reunited with her Advent Children and Crisis Core voice actress, Maya Sakamoto. Aerith will be the second voice Maya Sakamoto is playing as she’s already enlisted as FFXIII Lightning’s voice actress.
With Aerith Gainsborough back in another Final Fantasy game, fanboys out there should have their rage appeased even for just a little. Although we still await the day or sequel when she becomes a bonafide main character.View Article Source »
