HP Palm Think Beyond Round Up: HP Pre 3, HP Veer, webOS PC Appearance
"Think Beyond" is beyond our techie taste buds can handle with the HP Pre 3, HP Veer, and the webOS PC appearance.
HP/Palm’s “Think Beyond” event has been spectacular, to say the least. With the arrival of the HP/Palm TouchPad webOS tablet, comes 3 more juicy news under their sleeves: the HP Pre 3 and HP Veer smartphones, plus the awesome news that webOS is going to make an appearance at the PC. If there’s one thing we can say about the “Think Beyond” event, it was beyond anything we’ve expected.
HP Pre 3
The herald of the Pre series has finally arrived and not a moment too soon. The HP Pre 3 is a QWERTY slider with a 3.6-inch screen that carries an 800×480 resolution. It’s a powerhouse phone carrying a wicked 1.4Ghz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, HSPA+ and EVDO Rev A, and a 1230 mAh battery, whoah. The device has two cameras, the front camera for video conferences/calls, and the back carrying a 5-megapixel cameras equipped with flash and autofocus. The smartphone is Touchstone chargeable and can be set up as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.
It’s barely the size of a credit card, it’s think, it’s small, it’s definitely in it’s own league with it’s 2.6-inch touch screen. Despite it’s size, the slide-out keyboard, webOS 2.2 HP Veer carries some heavy artillery underneath that shell as it carries an 800Mhz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB storage, and HSPA+. Though users may find the size and layout a little discomforting, it’s something we can definitely enjoy and fiddle around with. I mean, come on, look at it!
WebOS Coming to PC
The HP Palm “Think Beyond” event was capped off with the news that the webOS is coming to PC(!) and HP is already planning to transcend the OS to other connected devices such as printers. No specific details were given, but this is exciting news indeed that will bloom as we move further into the year.
