Say Hello to HP/Palm TouchPad WebOS Tablet; Impressive Specs Detailed
Thinking beyond wasn't as ambitious as we expected from HP/Palm, but the TouchPad webOS tablet still hits all the right spots, including Flash.
There’s nothing like the smell of a newly unveiled webOS tablet, and the smell of HP and Palm’s new TouchPad, which has just been unveiled at the ‘Think Beyond’ event, is certainly as sweet as the summer breeze. Possessing stellar features which emphasizes more on the superiority of the interface rather than the hardware, the Touchpad looks like it’s ready to take on the tablet market by storm. We just have a little issue about its uniqueness against the apps-driven iOS and Android OS. Plus the entire hardware looks awfully like the iPad and other tablets available. But what’s good about the TouchPad is that it fully supports Flash (something Apple has been so hard-headed on), meaning it allows you to view videos around the web.
– Dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor
– 9.7″ display, at 1024×768
– Full flash support
– Video calling with a front-facing camera
– Gyro/accelerometer and a compass
– 16GB/32GB storage
– 1.6 pounds, 13.7 mm thick
Having HP as a marketing arm for the TouchPad webOS, expect the device to skyrocket in the tablet category. The game has definitely changed, and perhaps the future of the tablet category also, because we can now expect some fiercer competition as another player has jumped into the fray.View Article Source »
