Facebook Breakup Notifier: Be the First to Know
"You like someone. They're in a relationship. Be the first to know when they're out of it."
Facebook got a new app called Breakup Notifier. As the name implies, it keeps users updated with the relationship statuses of other users. If it happens that you have a crush with someone on Facebook but the person is involved with another, there’s already a way to know if their relationship is still on the roll.
There are three steps to hook your profile to a breakup notifier: log in your Facebook account, mark the friends you have the hots for and just wait for a notification once these friends are no longer taken.
The app was developed by Dan Loewenherz who got the idea from a conversation with his fiancee and future mom-in-law. A joke about notifying someone when a pair broke up stirred the creative juices of Loewenherz to develop the app. He finished the building it in four hours.
Now, you don’t need to snoop around your crush’s profile to check on the relationship status. Just check your inbox if you got an email like this:
Girl has changed her relationship status to “Single” from “In a relationship”. Get on it!
