Facebook Shuts Down 3.6M User-Strong Breakup Notifier
Looks like Susan's got her privacy back from the creepy Facebook stalker at the other side of town.
It has raked in more than 3.6 million users to date, but creepy-stalker Facebook app Breakup Notifier now goes down the drain as Facebook pulls the plug all thanks to the people who started to complain about the app.
Upon shutdown of the app, Breakup Notifier architect Dan Loewenherz received a message from Facebook regarding the issue:
“To ensure positive user experiences on Platform, we run routine automated screens that take user feedback, machine learning and various algorithms into account and remove spammy applications. For example, if an application is making an inordinate number of stream, publish calls and receiving a large number of user reports, it may be removed by our automated systems to protect the user experience and the Platform ecosystem.”
Apparently not everyone is liking the way people get updated on relationship statuses. Loewenherz is currently trying to contact Facebook in an attempt to get the Breakup Notifier up and running again. If it does come back, we doubt that it’ll be just as creepy (and admitedlly interesting) as the one we’ve had just yesterday.
Breakup Notifier is a Facebook app that notifies you whenever a person you are stalking changed his or her relationship status through e-mail. You just log on your Facebook, choose the people you want to stalk on, and then wait to get an e-mail if they’ve changed their relationship status. It’s that easy and that creepy.View Article Source »
