Warning: Fake iPad 2 Roams on eBay

Just right after iPad 2 was announced, a lot of scammers and bogus merchandisers are making their way to eBay.

Just right after Steve Jobs made the iPad 2 announcement, sellers from eBay are now posting pre-order for the latest Apple tablet. However, potential buyers will have to wait until merchandisers purchase the device on March 11. They also need to get their wallets ready, because markups are getting hefty and prices are rising quickly.

Just a note of warning though, there are some site listings on eBay that says “Pre-sale Brand New Factory Sealed Apple iPad2″ which were probably fake according to some experts. Quocira’s Service Director, Clive Longbottom, pointed out that they can be adequate and cheap copies of the original iPad 2. However, buyers will not be able enjoy Apple features like apps downloaded from iTunes. So anyone who falls for this will definitely be shelling out a large sum of money. There are also scammers on eBay that post fake listings, then disappears as soon as they are paid and before the device officially launches.
