Sony Working on 3G Capable Cyber-Shot Camera?
Will a 3G capable point-and-shoot camera bring the battered devices back into the game against improving smartphones?
Point-and-shoot cameras are currently on the marketing downfall as more convenient smartphones take casual photography center stage thanks to improved camera functionalities and apps that make picture-taking as easy as uploading them on the web. But it looks like Sony’s point-and-shoot camera department is getting ready to fight back as rumors share that the company is working on a prototype Cyber-Shot camera that can connect users to the web via 3G. Are we going to see a Sony Cyber-Shot 3G camera? Having such a device would definitely help put the industry back on its feet, but will it be enough considering that Samsung, HTC, and Apple is working long and hard for their smartphones?
According to sources, the Cyber-Shot 3G camera will be able to upload and share photos and videos on the web (most likely via Youtube, Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter). There are already reports that wi-fi enabled point-and-shoot cameras are on their way, but to fully experience some fun and excitement out of a camera, a 3G or 4G connection would be the best option.View Article Source »
