The iPad 2 Sellout Rises Questions for International Launch

Queue of people clamoring for Apple's iPad 2 is still long after the official launch last Friday. But with small number of devices heading to the stores, are they really ready for an international launch?

Ticonderoga Securities’ tech analyst, Brian White, checked the stores in New York City and San Francisco last Tuesday, and found out that few stores received additional shipments of . More over, not all Apple stores acquired shipments yesterday morning. Those that did, saw smaller quantities than last Friday’s launch.

That said, will Apple have enough supply for an ? The 2 is slated to hit the streets of over two dozen countries on March 25, though the Japanese launch was delayed due to the recent earthquake. The new from Apple is slated to arrive in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK next Friday.     I would assume that Apple would have used this recent launch as a test to guage reaction and demand of this new controversial device. I think that they have many in reserve and are not pumping out their whole stock right away to raise the value of the device to a level where people feel comfortable parting with $900 for a device that really has not much added value over the version 1 iPad.
