The iPad 2 Sellout Rises Questions for International Launch
Queue of people clamoring for Apple's iPad 2 is still long after the official launch last Friday. But with small number of devices heading to the stores, are they really ready for an international launch?
Ticonderoga Securities’ tech analyst, Brian White, checked the Apple stores in New York City and San Francisco last Tuesday, and found out that few stores received additional shipments of iPad 2. More over, not all Apple stores acquired iPad 2 shipments yesterday morning. Those that did, saw smaller quantities than last Friday’s launch.
That said, will Apple have enough supply for an international launch? The iPad 2 is slated to hit the streets of over two dozen countries on March 25, though the Japanese launch was delayed due to the recent earthquake. The new tablet from Apple is slated to arrive in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK next Friday. Further international availability and pricing will be announced on a later date.View Article Source »
