DriveFirst App by Sprint Keeps You Driving
Hit the roads and not the hospital with Sprint's DriveFirst app.
Sprint has announced a new Android app at CTIA 2011 that makes sure people who are driving stays driving. DriveFirst, created by Location Labs, is an application that locks all of the phone functions when it senses that the vehicle is in motion. How will that happen? Well you’d best find out for yourself when it comes to your Google-powered Sprint mobile devices by the third quarter of the year. The app will cost $2-per-month, but what’s $2 when it comes to safety, right?
So what happens to your calls and text messages? Well incoming calls are immediately redirected to your voicemail, while text message alerts are blocked and sends a ready made auto-response that tells your texter that you are unavailable.
The app will allow the driver to choose only three apps and three contacts that they can access while moving, so you’re not completely blacked out in case of an emergency occurs.
The app arrived in the nick of time for the National Distracted Driving Awareness month. This is a pretty smooth move from developers and Sprint.View Article Source »
