The next Computer Might Have Bloody Resistors
Your next computer might be Dracula's techy nephew, as the next memristor is made of human blood.
In the search for the next radically improved computer memory, the blood is the latest contender. Sanguineous thoughts aside, a team of researchers from Gujarat, India made a “memristor” out of human blood.
Compare to most resistors, the memristor remembers previous levels of voltage, enabling a repeat of a certain flow. It was in 2008 when HP created the first functioning memristor. However, it was plasma-deficient, and it was a situation that the Education Campus Changa team could not follow.
But why use the human blood? According to a biotechnology research system, R&D, this kind of memristor brings people a step closer to merging computer with the human body. As a result, nervous system damage, blindness, and other illness can be solved. Such advancements may also aid in computer development, leveraging to the unique capabilities of human brain.
