Thunderbolt and Sandy Bridge MacBook Airs Arriving This June
MacBook Air is about to get a taste of Sandy Bridges and Thunderbolts, and people might see them on shelves this June.
According to the “latest round of checks with suppliers and system builders” by Concord Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is currently preparing for the upcoming production of the refreshed Apple MacBook Air line this May. If things go as scheduled, the new MacBook Airs – which sport Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge microprocessors and the expected Thunderbolt I/O technology – will be set for a June release. According to AppleInsider, the Apple MacBook Airs will replace the Penryn-based 45-nm Core 2 Duo chips for the new low-voltage Core i5 and Core i7 chips.
