Introducing the D41P and D42P, which are equipped with LG’s new Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology. These computer monitors promise to provide “brighter display, clearer images, and a “Flicker-Free” certified 3D picture.”
The new CINEMA 3D monitors are now available in South Korea, while the rest of the world will have to wait until June to get this offer. Just enough time for competitors to launch something more attractive. No prices have been unveiled as of this writing.
So what’s the deal with the “Flicker-Free” feature exactly? According to LG Electronic’s official press release, 3D on screen flicker causes a certain degree of dizziness and nausea. This is what LG points out to be one of the causes of why people are still indifferent with 3D computer monitors, the other one is of course the prices that come with them.
With the FPR 3D technology LG offers, it aims to provide consumers a more comfortable and longer 3D viewing experience at a competitive price.
The LG CINEMA 3D Monitors support HDMI 1.4 and is convertible to 2D content into “top-quality” 3D.
