Nintendo Sticking with Buttons in Upcoming Console

Satoru Iwata confirms that Nintendo will never remove the d-pad and buttons from their console's controls. Hallelujah!
Whenever Nintendo is about to unveil their latest console, count on them to include the most unexpected, yet also most innovative features in their controls. Gamers already learned that the controls for the next Nintendo console will have a touchscreen through Kotaku, and now Nintendo President – Satoru Iwata – has confirmed that it will not be ditching the d-pad and controls.
So rest assured, we won’t be seeing something completely crazy when Nintendo’s next console makes its appearance at the upcoming E3 2011 event. Thank God!
According to a dialogue with Satoru Iwata:
“Whenever we make a new game console, we’ve done it without throwing away buttons and the directional pad. The reason for that it’s better to have them, because buttons and directional pads benefit gameplay response.
