Sony Starts “Phased Restoration” for PSN This Week, Offers “Welcome Back” Loot to Loyal Subrscribers

PSN will be back online with some essential services up and running. Subscribers will finally get what they deserve for their loyalty.

subscribers already heard the news before, and now President – Kaz Hirai – has made it official in an executive sense. will be restoring “some services” for the starting this week in an operation they’d like to call “Phased .”

The announcement was made during a very sincere and humbling press conference by Sony’s big guns, as they made their apology to the entire PlayStation community for the recent attacks on the company’s main database.

Along with the restoration, Sony will be offering a “” appreciation program, which provides with ranging from 30 days free membership/service in the PlayStation Plus Premium to 30 days of free Music Unlimited services powered by Qriocity. Sony also shared that they will be giving away free downloadable content, which varies on what region the PSN subscriber is in.

Here are the services Sony has announced will be restoring within the week:

– Restoration of Online game-play across the PlayStation®3 (PS3) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems
(This includes titles requiring online verification and downloaded games)
– Access to Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3/PSP for existing subscribers
– Access to account management and password reset
– Access to download un-expired Movie Rentals on PS3, PSP and MediaGo
– PlayStation®Home
– Friends List
– Chat Functionality

Once a PSN subscriber enters the network, they will be required to renew their passwords on the PS3 unit they’ve registered their account with.
