Intel Introduces “Ivy Bridge” 22nm 3D Transistors
Intel goes 3D with their transistors, CPUs will never be the same again.
You can always count on Intel to bring its A-game when it comes to its products. And now the company has unveiled something so revolutionary, expect that ordinary consumers will never get it until probably next year.
Introducing the Intel “Ivy Bridge” 22nm 3D transistors, which sports the newest look ditching the traditional 2D for the 3D planar platform streams, or what they would like to call “Tri-Gate” transistors.
The Tri-Gate transistors promise to a 37% increased performance from its 32nm predecessor, using only half the power. Now that’s definitely something. Unfortunately, Intel only intends to provide this new technology to servers. But expect them to roll out some consumer-friendly ones in a year or two.
Below is a video clip to give a clearer idea on what’s the deal with Intel’s Ivy Bridge, Tri-Gate transistors.View Article Source »
