Mass Effect 3 Delayed Until Q1 2012
Looks like Mass Effect players will be killing some alien machinations some other time.
EA development studio, BioWare, has announced that the next and final installation of the Mass Effect franchise – Mass Effect 3 – will no longer see the light of a 2011 day. Instead, the action RPG hit is now set to be released on the first quarter of 2012.
According to a statement on Facebook and BioWare message boards, executive producer, Casey Hudson, announced:
“Today we have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations. We’ll have more details about specific dates as we get closer to release.”
The delay could be a good thing though, as experience tells gamers that BioWare isn’t particularly good when it comes to rushed sequels, i.e. Dragon Age II. Mass Effect 3’s 2012 release will also mean the game would avoid going head-to-head with big games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Uncharted 3 for the 2011 holiday releases.
Mass Effect 3 is an action role-playing game developed by BioWare for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. It is the final installation of the hit BioWare franchise, Mass Effect, which received raves throughout its run. Players assume the role of Commander Shepard once again in a final confrontation against the machine race called the Reapers.View Article Source »
