Panasonic starts to toughen up – their line of notebooks that is, as it launches the Toughbook CF-53.
Seen as the toughened up predecessor of the Toughbook 52, the Toughbook 53 is smaller, more durable and lighter at 5.6 pounds.
The new Toughbook 53 sports a larger touchpad, boasts of a 14-inch display, LED-backlit LCD with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (HD), while a 7,200 RPM HDD provides storage space.
Its Core i3 or Core i5 Intel central processing unit (CPU) is backed up by up to 8 GB of RAM and handled by the Windows 7 Professional 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.
WiFi is also present, as well as Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabut Ethernet, USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, an ExpressCard slot and a memory card reader.
An addition to Toughbook 53’s edge among other rugged/semi-rugged notebooks is its spill-resistant keyboard and the shock-shielding HDD drive cartridge.
