No Gingerbread with Sony Ericsson Xperia X10’s Firmware Update
Sony Ericsson just rolled out its firmware update for Xperia X10, but it's not the Gingerbread that everybody was waiting for.
Sony Ericsson just rolled out another firmware update for its Xperia X10, bringing in a number of major changes in the handset. However, it is not the Gingerbread release that everybody was waiting for.
The update version 2.1.B.0.1 reportedly boosts screen responsiveness and general performance. It strengthens the signal and in-call sound quality with its new baseband, and it also makes switching from 2G to 3G network even faster. Initiating calls take shorter time now, while a change in battery is also noticeable. However some users say that the change of battery life is for the better while others refute it. The update also enables voice integration to almost anywhere it is necessary.
But the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play X10’s biggest change is its system-wide availability of multi-touch. When it comes to the visual side of things, there were minor tweaks with the notification area, dialer pad and status bar. New animations are also available around the interface which seem smoother. Moreover, Hackers won’t be losing the control over their system, since the rooting solution from previous ROMs are compatible with the new one.
You can visit XDA-developers‘ forum to find the instructions on how to update your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, just in case the update is not available in your area. But make sure that you know what you’re doing before feeding your handset with the firmware update.View Article Source »
