Recently, ABC News featured a news report which stated the danger that electronic devices like cellphones can cause on flights.
The news channel obtained a study conducted by the International Air Transport Association which mentioned that there were 75 separate flight incidents that airline employees suspected were caused by electronic interference. The respondents of the study were gathered from 125 airlines around the world.
Twenty-six of the seventy-five incidents were interferences which occurred on flight controls such as autopilot, autothrust and landing gear. Seventeen of the incidents were malfunction on the navigation system while fifteen disrupted communication systems on board.
Among the electronics devices that travelers often bring, the cellphone is the most suspected device to cause these interferences; accounting to four out of ten incidents.
