Apple Removes ThirdIntifada from App Store
Offensive app kicked out of the app store as requested by an Israeli minister.
The said app was released a few days ago and contains schedule of impending protests, news reports in Arabic and nationalistic Palestinian content. The name Intifada pertains to the uprising actions against Israel.
Israeli Minister of Public Affairs and the Diaspora Yuli Edelstein requested the removal of the app through a letter addressed to Steve Jobs. “From browsing through the articles, stories and photographs that appear in the app, it is clear that this is an anti-Israeli and anti-Zionist application that in fact, as its name suggests, calls for an uprising against Israel,” he said in the letter.
The minister was grateful with “Apple’s swift action” in getting rid of the insulting app.View Article Source »
