Pegatron Receives 15 Million Order of iPhone 5 Units
A new report says that Apple raised their orders of iPhone 5 units from 10 million to 15 million at Pegatron.
According to a report received by DigiTimes, Pegatron – an Apple manufacturer – received an order to produce 15 million units of iPhone 5. The report also said that the anticipated iPhone 5 will begin shipping in December this year.
The increase in numbers of orders from 10 million to 15 million units shows Apple’s bullish outlook on iPhone, after its record sales on previous months. The sales of iPhone increase to 113% year after year. In the first quarter of 2011, iPhone sales reached 18.65 million units. Experts expect those numbers to undergo a slight dip sequentially throughout the summer, before reaching another heights along with the launch of the next generation smartphones.
Meanwhile, Pegatron’s stock increased to 3.1% after the rumor about Apple’s order spread. The said increase is the largest gain in three weeks. The report also claims that the manufacturer is striving for iPad or MacBook orders from Apple. However, it must win Apple’s favor because “the products’ existing manufacturers are defending their orders.”View Article Source »
