Rumors: “iPad HD” is Coming this Fall

Based on a rumor, Apple is planning to release a revised version of iPad 2 that will have a higher resolution than its predecessor and it will be named as "iPad HD."

As , CEO of , declared that 2011 would be the year of , the company is planning to release a new version of the said device. The revised would have a much sharper screen, as it uses a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display.

The revised version will be called “”. According to sources, the new iPad will have a higher resolution than the recent version. It would also be compatible with some iPad versions of Final Cut Pro or Aperture. While early rumors about the iPad 2 said that it will have a “Retina” display, the device just featured the same 1024 x 768 resolution. But in iPhad HD, the device will have a 2048×1536 resolution.

Apple also started to include pixel-double artwork in iBooks for iPad some time ago, and recently added more 2048 x 1536 pixel artwork in iOS 5 beta. This seems that the future iPad will definitely use this resolution.
