Rumors: “iPad HD” is Coming this Fall
Based on a rumor, Apple is planning to release a revised version of iPad 2 that will have a higher resolution than its predecessor and it will be named as "iPad HD."
As Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, declared that 2011 would be the year of iPad 2, the company is planning to release a new version of the said device. The revised iPad would have a much sharper screen, as it uses a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display.
The revised version will be called “iPad HD”. According to sources, the new iPad will have a higher resolution than the recent version. It would also be compatible with some iPad versions of Final Cut Pro or Aperture. While early rumors about the iPad 2 said that it will have a “Retina” display, the device just featured the same 1024 x 768 resolution. But in iPhad HD, the device will have a 2048×1536 resolution.
Apple also started to include pixel-double artwork in iBooks for iPad some time ago, and recently added more 2048 x 1536 pixel artwork in iOS 5 beta. This seems that the future iPad will definitely use this resolution.
However, Apple still did not announce a new iPad after finally shipping the iPad 2 in volume in the recent quarter. More updates on iPad HD are sure to come, so stick it here at GADG.
