Sany VAIO Z Series, Now Available in the US
Sony recently unveiled the "world's lightest 13-inch standard voltage PC" in the US. Make way for the VAIO Z series!
Last Wednesday, Sony finally unveiled its VAIO Z series in the US. The “world’s lightest 13-inch standard voltage PC” is just 0.66 inches thick and weighs 2.5 pounds. Originally announced at the end of June, the Sony VAIO Z series also features a monolithic Power Media Dock. It connects to the laptop via Thunderbolt, and boost the laptop’s graphical prowess. It also provides Blu-ray or DVD SuperMulti optical drive, three USB ports, and supports up to four HD displays with the help of HDMI or VGA ports.
However, the Sony VAIO Z is not too shabby on its own. For instance, the VPCZ21V9E models features:
– Intel Core i7-2620M CPU clocked at 2.70 GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.40 GHz)
– 8 GB of DDR3 1333 Mhz SDRAM
– 256 GB of SSD storage (in Raid 0)
– Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU
The Sony VAIO series is also packed with the following:
– 802.11a/b/g/n, 3G WWAN
– Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
– USB 2.0 x1
– the docking station/USB port
– HDMI out (3D supported)
– An HD web camera powered by ‘Exmor’
