Apple Declared Top Smartphone Seller

The Cupertino-based company out-sells Nokia in a span of four years.
The strong sales of the iPhone shoot Apple into the top spot of smartphone dealers worldwide. Financial Times stated that Apple put on sale 20.34 million iPhone handsets last quarter, with release of 18.7 million units in the first quarter of 2011. On the other hand, Finland-based Nokia is suffering a decrease on its sale with its shipment scaled at 24.2 million units in the first quarter to just 16.7 million smartphones in June. All in all, the statistics of Nokia hinted that they sold 3.64 million fewer units than Apple. Apple has already achieved a lot with the release of only two smartphones. The June quarter was record breaking for Apple since it was the first time the company toppled down Nokia based on the amount of sales.
