Sprint’s Galaxy S II, an Epic Touch 4G Coming in September
According to a rumor, Sprint's version of Galaxy S II - named Epic Touch 4G - is set to be released on September.
A rumor that emerged on Tuesday narrowed down several launch details of Sprint’s version of Galaxy S II prior to its scheduled release date. Samsung’s phone should be christened as the Epic Touch 4G to make clear the absence of a keyboard. The said dual-core Android device is set to release in September.
Samsung has officially planned to bring the Galaxy S II to the U.S. shores in August and could leave Sprint running late. The company’s comments may have been referring to announcements and not shipments, and could see most other companies following suit.
The Galaxy S II’s Sprint edition will be a very sharp break from the Epic 4G. Aside from the touch-only design, the said device will follow Samsung’s original 4G main edition more closely. Both will have the following features:
- Dual-core 1.2GHz Exynos chips
- 8 megapixel back cameras
- 2 megapixel front cameras
- 4.3- inch Super AMOLED Plus display
Several upcoming releases includes the Samsung Conquer 4G – a budget WiMAX Android phone – and the BlackBerry Curve 9350 — RIM’s entry non-touch smartphone this year. Both might ship as soon as August 21.View Article Source »
