AT&T and Sprint Launches Three BlackBerry 7-based Smartphones

Blackberry Torch 9810, Bold 9930, and Torch 9850: Now reaching the store shelves.
As planned, three of AT&T and Sprint’s RIM BlackBerry 7-based smartphones are now available in various store shelves. Sprint has made the largest launch and shipped the BlackBerry Torch 9850 along with the BlackBerry Bold 9930 devices in a very affordable pricing. The Torch can be purchased online for $150 with a contract, while the Bold 9930 (with contract) will be available for only $200. Although the two manufacturers confirmed this pricing as official, several US carriers are still panning to sell the smartphones for $50 more on average.
On the other hand, AT&T has just made its second-generation 4G BlackBerry Torch 9810 available in the market, but hasn’t revealed any shipping dates for the Bold. The Torch 9810 is said to be the least expensive BlackBerry 7 device so far, with its price tag of $50 (with contract).
The three handsets run on the same 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and brings a five-megapixel camera. However, they still differ from each other in terms of displays and keyboards. The Blackberry Torch 9810 gets a 3.25-inch, 640×480 display and a five-megapixel camera with autofocus; while the Torch 9850 features a 3.5-inch, 480×800 display with a touch-only option. Bold 9900, the thinnest and smallest among the group, brings a 2.8-inch, 640×480 screen display with no autofocus camera, but offers an interactive QWERTY keyboard.
