JailBreakMe’s Comex Signs to Work For Apple

One more JailBreakMe developer, Nick Allegra a.k.a. Comex, signs in for Apple.

Another jailbreak developer was enlisted with on Thursday, after Nick Allegra a.k.a. announced that he would be taking an internship. ’s creator didn’t give so much information about his role, but he planned to start in about two weeks.

In explaining it, Comex only cast the jump as shaking up his experience. He said, “It’s been really, really fun, but it’s also been a while and I’ve been getting bored.”

Comex’s move was followed by developer, ’, hiring. However, the context was different for him — who was getting permanent employment. Neverthless, he points to a different attitude towards jailbreak developers than in the past. Apple hasn’t been aggressive against jailbreak teams themselves, but they were mostly just concerned about patching the exploits they found.

An internship could direct Comex into a work that isn’t connected directly to JailBreakMe. He might be used for the security side of Apple, though as he has more than once found ways to take advantage of a hole on Apple’s security simply by visiting a website. Almost all of iOS’ current security model is based around the strict vetting process, as well as repairing exploits after they show.
