iPad 3: Coming with Thinner Battery and Form Factor
Though the buzz on Apple's iPad 3 gone hush over last month, it seems that the rumor mill is still in action.
Since the previous news stated that Apple’s iPad 3 will not be available until next year, the buzz about the said tablet gone a bit quiet. However, there were rumors that the device will get a Retina Display and thinner batteries and form factors.
As reported by Taiwan Economic News, Apple signed deals with Dynapack International Technology Corp. and Simplo Technology Co. for battery packs for the third-gen iPad. This will provide iPad 3 with thinner and lighter battery packs than the ones currently used in iPad 2. Moreover, it should provide a longer life for users. However, it will cost the company by up to a third more. Regardless, the thinner and lighter battery packs are anticipated to enter production during Q1 2012.
Together with the new batteries, iPad 3 is also said to feature Retina Display which will enable a beautiful screen image. It is believed that the display is the reason why Apple could not roll out the tablet soon enough, as suppliers couldn’t produce ample screens in time.
But be that as it may, releasing a new iPad so soon would make recent buyers of iPad 2 unhappy. However, Apple might be planning to release the iPad 3 early next year.
