More than sharing your own music and listening to your friends’ playlist in the new News Ticker, you will eventually see and share music-related activity on the Music Dashboard found at the left hand corner of your profile. In addition to that, Spotify will be removing its invite-only barrier, aside from giving non-paying users six months of unlimited music listening.

But if you don’t want to share your playlist to your Facebook friends, here’s what you can do: Click “Applications” > Spotify (or whatever app you’re using) > App Privacy > Only Me.
