The Return of MySpace
The music player website makes a comeback with search engine capability and Facebook integration.
MySpace decided to be a Spotify look-alike with the release of its latest version. MySpace was recently purchased by Specific Media and its latest version has built-in search engine and Facebook integration.
Based in the records, MySpace has 42 million songs in total plus 30 million songs from talented, unsigned artists. Partnering with Facebook would widen the scope of MySpace’s audience. The site’s last recorded traffic is 24.9 million last month.
MySpace COO Chris Vanderhook said that 2012 is a promising year for the website. “We’re gonna build great product and we’re gonna put it out when it’s ready. I think under previous leadership they put out a timeline and put out whatever product they had. We haven’t said, ‘This has to be out by this date’.”
Hopefully, MySpace will revive its name next year and not just remain a footnote in the social network history.View Article Source »
