Nikon Acknowledges D4/D800 Lockup Issue, Offers Temporary Fix

Nikon admits 'locking up' issues with its D4 and D800 cameras.
Almost two weeks after formally acknowledging a problem with a certain batch of camera batteries, Nokia has confirmed that ‘a small number of D4/D800 users have been experiencing locking up issues, where the camera becomes unresponsive until the battery is removed and reinserted’.
The company addressed the issue in a recent statement posted by PDN. The statement included a temporary fix which suggests users to turn off the ‘Highlights’ and ‘RGB Histogram’ display option in the ‘Playback Display Option’ sub-menu to avoid the problem.
While Nikon has yet to fully address the cause of the problem, the company is said to be using its best efforts to come up with a permanent solution and will update users in due time.
