Yahoo Launches Web Browser, Axis
Axis has versions for your iPad and iPhone, and plug-ins for the desktop browsers Chrome, Firefox, IE, and Safari.
Internet giant Yahoo has finally launched its own web browser, Axis. According to Yahoo’s head of product for the Search Innovation Group Ethan Batraski, their design goal is to “eliminate the middle step in the usual Web search process.”
With Axis, there’s no need to be bombarded with a sea of links, when entering a query. Instead, what you get when you search is a horizontal display of Web page thumbnails, so there are no search result pages. You can easily see pages that you are looking for, because all you have to dis move forward or backward in the list of results directly from a page you’re on. The search results are integrated into the browser.
