The A011 vending machine only uses energy during night time, makes use of vacuum insulated material and air-tight doors to lock in the coldness during the day.

Energy efficient appliances can be seen everywhere nowadays, even in public places.

Coca Cola Japan has teamed up with Fuji Electric Retail System to create an energy efficient vending machine that can keep drinks cold, without the need to use electricity for up to 16 hours a day.

The A011 vending machine is made of vacuum insulated material and air-tight doors that maintains the cold temperature during daytime, without the use of power. It only makes use of electricity at night, where it costs less. This machine reduces energy use up to 95 percent, each day.

The machine was created in line with the major disaster that hit Japan last year and left the country with a major power shortage.
